Keep in mind that all the information you provide will be available to everyone, even to people who don’t have a registered user in the Sleddog Registry. Therefore, do not provide any sensitive information or information you do not want others to have access to.

I do not want to register all the information about myself. Can I still register a user?

Yes. You can choose how much or little information you want to provide about yourself. No information is required.

I want to create a new dog. How do I do that?

Before you register a new dog, it is important that you double-check to see if the dig is not already in the database. Use the search engine on the front page, and search for the dog by chip number, ID, the dog’s name, breeder and / or kennel. If you find your dog, you do not have to register it again. If you are not listed as the owner of the dog, please send an e-mail to post@trekkhundregisteret.no and tell us which dog you would like to have transferred to you. We need either the dog’s ID or the kennel under which it is registered. If you dog is not in the database, go to «Register new dog». Fill out the form «Information» on the right. The field «ID» will be filled out automatically when you save the information about the dog, and the kennel will automatically become your own kennel. Fill out as much or little information as you wish about your dog beyond this information. When you press «Save» you will be notified that a new dog has been registered. Your dog is now in the database. NB! You have to refresh the page before the new dog appears in the list of your dogs.

I do not have all the information about my dog / do not want to share all the information. Can I register it anyway?

Yes. You can choose how much or little information you want to provide about your dog. No information is required, though «ID» and «Kennel» will be filled out automatically.

My dog/s is/are already in the database, but is/are registered to someone else. How do I transfer the dog/s to my user?

If you are not registered as the owner of your own dog/s, please send an e-mail to post@trekkhundregisteret.no. Tell us which dog/s you want transferred to you, and we will fix it for you. We will need either the dog’s ID, or the name of the kennel to which they are registered.

Why is my dog/s already in the database when I am only registering a user now?

The Sleddog Registry is the continuation of Stamtavla. This means that all the information from Stamtavla is transferred to the Sleddog Registry. Therefore, your dog/s may already be in the database.

I had a registered user at Stamtavla.no, and I registered both kennel and dogs there, but when I try logging in to the Sleddog Registry with my old username and password, it is not working. What do I do?

Although the content of the Sleddog Registry is based on the information from Stamtavla.no, your username and password were not transferred. Because of this, your old Stamtavla login is no longer valid. You need to register a new user in the Sleddog Registry, and then send an e-mail to post@trekkhundregisteret.no with which kennel and dog/s you want transferred to your new user. We will then fix it for you.

I want to edit the information on my dog/s. How do I do that?

Press «My dogs» and then on the dog you want to edit. In the form «Information» on the right you will now be able to edit, add or delete information on the dog. The «ID» and «Kennel» fields are filled in automatically and can not be changed. To change the kennel, go to «My Profile» and then edit «Kennel» under «Your data».

I want to upload an image, but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

In order to upload images to the Sleddog Registry you need a modern browser. Browsers that work are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

I would like to perform a search on a dog or kennel / owner. How do I do that?

Use the search engine on the front page. You can search for the dog by entering chip number, ID, dog’s name, breeder and / or kennel.

I want to perform a search on a dog, but I am not a registered user. Can I still use the database?

Yes. The information in the database is available to everyone.

What exactly does it entail that my dog is registered in the database?

When a dog is registered in the database, it means that you can search for the dog and find information about it – for instance which kennel it belongs to, who the owner is, how old it is, etc. By searching for an owner or a kennel, you can see all the dogs this owner / kennel has. If a dog is lost, you can enter the dog’s chip number in the search engine and find the owner.

Why should I register my dogs in the Sleddog Registry? What are the benefits?

In other registers, such as NKK, only purebred dogs can be registered. We have no such requirements here at the Sleddog Registry. Here you can register even mixed dogs. Because of this, the Sleddog Registry is a great tool for keeping track of all your dogs, mixed as well as purebred, in one place, and it is a great way of letting other people find information about your kennel and dogs. Also, if your dog is lost and it is registered here, whoever finds your dog can enter the dog’s chip number in the search engine and find your name and contact information.

I do not run a kennel, so why do I have to provide this information?

By «Kennel» we do not necessarily mean «breeder». We use the word «Kennel» because it was used at Stamtavla, and we only use it to give all of your dogs a unique belonging in addition to your name. This way, you can search for your name or the kennel name, and find all your dogs.

Can anyone find my user and my dog/s in the registry?

Yes. The information in the database is available to everyone. Therefore we advise you to not provide any sensitive information about you or your dogs that you don’t want anyone else to have access to.

I no longer wish to have a user on the Sleddog Registry. How can I delete my account?

It is not possible to delete your user, but we can anonymize it for you. Send an e-mail to post@trekkhundregisteret.no with which user you want to be made anonymous, and we will fix it for you. On the dogs you have registered, the kennel will now be «Anonymous kennel».

I want to delete the dogs that I registered. How do I do that?

Since the Sleddog Registry contains historical data for the purpose of creating dogs' pedigrees, it is not possible to delete dogs from the registry. If you wish to delete your user, the kennel to which the dogs belong will be «Anonymous kennel».

Who runs the Sleddog Registry, and what exactly is it?

The Sleddog Registry is run and operated by the Norwegian Sled Dog Racing Association, and it is a database of registered sled dogs. It is a database where you can also register mixed dogs, which makes it unique.
